On April 24, a police officer of Quynh Nhai district, Son La province said that the unit had prosecuted the accused against 5 people related to the case of a 9th grade girl being abused in the district.
According to him, 4 subjects were prosecuted for Rape of a person under 16 years old, and 1 subject was prosecuted for failing to report crimes. Another person involved in the case was under 16 years old, and at the same time, the act did not have enough grounds to constitute a crime, so he was not prosecuted. The accused are under 18 years old, some are under 16 years old.

Previously, the police agency determined that on March 20, the above 9th grade female student in the same group of subjects ate rice and drank alcohol in Chieng Khoang commune, Quynh Nhai district. After drinking alcohol, 4 people in this group had sex with the victim, the other 2 were outside watching and using their phones to record clips.
On April 14, the incident was discovered by the girl’s family and made a complaint to the Quynh Nhai District Police.
