According to the prosecution, around May 2019, Vuong’s group saw on social networking sites that there were many people selling motorbikes of unknown origin, so they had the intention to pretend to be a criminal police in order to appropriate the property of the people. car seller.

After that, Vuong went online to rent a People’s Police identity card and fake name plate bearing Vuong’s name and bought a police uniform with the rank of second lieutenant. Next, Vuong bought 2 more rubber bullet guns, bullets and 3 handcuffs number 8.

Having all kinds of fake documents and supporting tools in hand, the bandits went online to find prey, pretended to be car buyers and then arranged to have them bring the car to the locations chosen by Vuong’s group.

When the victims arrived, Vuong pulled out a fake People’s Police identity card and then and his accomplices overpowered them to rob the car. After successful implementation, Vuong divided each member 500,000 VND, when the stolen car is sold, he will share more.

By this trick, the bandits have successfully carried out nearly 30 car robberies, selling more than 300 million dong to share spending.

In particular, among these was the robbery of Nguyen Kim Thuy’s Sonic motorbike. Accordingly, at noon on November 15, 2019, Phat went online and learned that Ms. Thuy was in need of selling a motorcycle without the owner. After that, Phat made an appointment to meet Thuy at Big C supermarket (Di An town, Binh Duong province).

When he arrived, Vuong saw Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien carrying Thuy’s mother and daughter, and rushed over to use handcuffs to lock Mr. Kien’s hands, put them in the car, and let Cong sit in the back to keep them. Phat controlled Thuy’s mother and daughter, then the whole group controlled the victims to the Thu Duc intersection, released them, and stole the motorbike.

At today’s court hearing, the defendants sincerely confessed to committing crimes as charged by the indictment.

Considering that the criminal acts of the defendants are particularly dangerous, have directly infringed on other people’s property, causing social disorder, it is necessary to have a strict sentence for deterrence and general prevention. .

After a day of trial and deliberation, late afternoon of the same day, the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City decided to sentence defendant Vuong to 20 years in prison for the crime of “Robbing property”, and 4 years for the crime of “Using seals or fake documents” of agencies and organizations”, the total penalty for both crimes is 24 years in prison; Mai The Cong, Truong Kim Phat and Doan Gia Hai Thien each accused 15 years; Tran Ngoc Tuyen 14 years and Tran Quang Khang 7 years in prison together for the crime of “robbing property”.
