Over 2,750 billion VND to build an aircraft maintenance area at Long Thanh airport

Accordingly, investment projects in the construction and operation of aircraft maintenance areas have the goal of providing maintenance services for aircraft up to code F, which must include aircraft currently registered in Vietnam. Vietnam such as Boeing B777/B787, Airbus A330/A350 and narrow-body aircraft such as A320/A321, Boeing 737NGs according to the standard requirements of Vietnam Civil Aviation (CAA), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The scale of the work is determined based on the dossier of adjustment of the planning for a number of work items within the construction scope of phase 1 of the project. Long Thanh International Airport approved by the Ministry of Transport in Decision No. 1652.

Preliminary total cost of each project is about 688 billion VND (total investment of 4 zones is more than 2,750 billion VND), mobilized by capital from socialization investors.

Each project is expected to be implemented within 24 months from the effective date of the project contract, the estimated exploitation time is 25 years from the date of completion of the investment work.

According to the report of the Southern Airport Authority, currently, all 4 land lots for building aircraft maintenance areas have not completed the compensation work, so it is not possible to measure, set landmarks, make cadastral maps and complete procedures for granting land use right certificates.
