Gasoline prices on May 4 may increase again

Each liter of gasoline can increase by 400-600 VND if the operator does not deduct the stabilization fund.

According to regulations, May 1st is the period of adjustment of domestic gasoline prices. However, due to the holiday, gasoline prices will be adjusted on May 4.

Data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade updated to April 28 shows that the price of finished gasoline on the Singapore market in the past period has tended to increase. RON 92 gasoline (used to make E5 RON 92 gasoline) has an average price of $127.67 a barrel, while RON 95 gasoline is about $131.96 a barrel, an increase of 4-5% compared to the previous operating cycle. .

Share with VnExpress, a leader of a focal business in Ho Chi Minh City said that the world oil price had a few drops last week, but by the end of April, the average price of this product still increased. Specifically, Brent and WTI crude oil prices both gained during the week, up 1.3% and 4.4%, respectively. As a result, the price of finished petroleum products imported into the country also increased significantly.

“This operating period, without using the Stabilization Fund, the price of gasoline may increase by 400-600 dong a liter, the price of oil will increase by 300-400 dong,” said a leader of a petroleum hub in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the contrary, this position also said that if using the Fund, the price of gasoline could increase slightly by 200-300 VND per liter.

Sharing the same opinion, the leader of a petroleum hub in Hanoi said that the world’s petroleum supply is still not satisfactory. The reason is that countries are concerned that Russia’s oil supply will continue to be interrupted because the conflict in Ukraine has not ended. Therefore, this operating period, the regulator can continue to increase gasoline for the second time in a row after the decrease on April 12.

On April 21, each liter of gasoline increased by nearly 700 VND, bringing E5 RON 92 gasoline to 27,130 VND, RON 95 was 27,990 VND per liter. Oils increased from 800-970 VND per liter, of which diesel oil increased to 25,350 VND per liter.
