Meta Store will be a big competitor of Apple Store?

Not long ago, Meta announced the launch of the Meta Store as an attempt by the social media mogul to sell products including the Quest 2 virtual reality device and the Portal video calling device. In addition, the store will also offer Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses at an affordable price.

Meta Store currently has only one store and is expected to be located on Meta’s campus in Burlingame, California.

As such, Meta is the latest major tech company to open a physical store to sell hardware devices. Previously, Google opened a store in New York in 2021. Microsoft closed 83 stores in 2020 but reshaped some “experience centers” and started selling products in them in 2021. Meanwhile, Apple has built hundreds of stores to display and sell products over the years.

The Meta Store is expected to open May 9. Users can experience the company’s wide range of products, including stepping into a virtual universe with apps like Beat Saber and Real VR Fishing.

“Meta Store will help users connect with our products, which can be the gateway to the virtual universe of the future” – Martin Gilliard, head of Meta Store, stated.

Since the store is located in Meta’s headquarters, the company’s employees will have more experience opportunities to create the best user experience.

A spokesperson for Meta said that the company has not yet shared any plans to expand the Meta Store in the near future.
