Strengthening the psychological treatment of children in Ukraine with animals

There are many methods psychological treatment for children is applicable, which uses animal therapy is being considered as the simplest way but brings more results.

Playing with dogs is part of a psychotherapy session being organized by a humanitarian center in the city of Zaporizhia, southeastern Ukraine.

About 28 spanish long-eared dogs were selected to play with the children, draw and sing rhymes.

Olga Pivtoratska, a volunteer, said: “The psyche of a child is very vulnerable because of the ongoing war. They are very worried about it. Some children are very scared and we help them out. from this state of mind”.

Ms. Alyona Serdyuk, a psychologist, shared: “We work here with volunteers who are pedagogical students. The main task is to stabilize the children’s spirits and help them cope with the difficult situations. stress, deep pressure”.

For the two brothers Ivan (5 years old), participating in a therapy show with dolphins today is something they have never thought of since they were displaced by the war.

Baby Ivan said: “I love the way the dolphins jump and touch the ball.”

Irina Borisevich, Ivan’s mother, was worried: “I was so scared, I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t put the two children to sleep on the bed in the house because they were near the window. The war turned it upside down. children’s lives”.
