Vietnamese mother shoots two children before being kicked out of home

Police were dispatched at 7:05 a.m. to a home on Timber Ridge Road after receiving reports that Trinh Nguyen had attempted to shoot her 22-year-old neighbor Gianni Melchiondo.

Mr. Weintraub said Trinh Nguyen pulled the trigger twice but failed. Thanks to that, the neighbor was able to disarm and Trinh Nguyen then left the scene.

According to Mr Weintraub, the father of one of the boys, Ed Tini, was with him on the afternoon of May 2. The other boy has another father and investigators are still trying to find him.

A police statement said Trinh Nguyen was arrested in a nearby church parking lot at around 11 a.m. on the same day on May 2. Court records show Trinh Nguyen attempted suicide. When arrested, Trinh Nguyen, dressed in shabby chic clothes, appeared to have used drugs.

The Burks County Courier Times has independently confirmed through court documents that Trinh Nguyen is in a dispute with her landlord, Corinna Tini-Melchiondo, her ex-sister-in-law, who owns a home of five bedroom, where Trinh Nguyen and her children live.

Court records show that Trinh Nguyen, of Vietnamese descent, and her ex-husband Ed Tini moved into the house after they were married in 2012 and she continued to live there with her sons after he moved in. June last year.

Her lease was terminated at the end of September 2021, about a month before Trinh’s divorce from Mr. Tini was finalized.

Last November, Trinh Nguyen was sued for more than $11,000 in overdue rent. The judge then ordered her to pay $11,500 in rent and other expenses in December, but she appealed the court’s ruling. In April, she received an eviction order, forced to leave her home on May 3.
