Bobby Wummer is a wildlife photographer and filmmaker who managed to capture the dramatic confrontation between his camera in hand and a large alligator at Big Cypress National Reserve in California. Florida, USA.
Crocodile lurking in front of the camera
As a professional photographer as well as for his own safety, Wummer mounted a GoPro (action camera series) camera on an extension pole more than 3.5m long to be able to take close-up shots of crocodiles in the area. this area and he always kept the camera overhead.
But it seems, the height of the camera is within the range of the alligator. The crocodile thought it was prey, it rushed into the camera and tried to “play” to defeat the “opponent”.
In this terrifying video, people can see the incredible inside of the crocodile’s mouth. The video is also a way to illustrate what it’s like to be “eaten alive”.
Fortunately for the photographer, the large crocodile soon realized the “delicious food” it was trying to tear was not what it seemed. It left and the camera remained on the pylon.

Bobby shared: “You see, I took a close-up of the inside of that crocodile’s mouth. I didn’t mean to do this shot in advance, nor did I think it would actually jump up and bite. into the camera.”

He also left the camera in place when the crocodile attacked because if he snatched the GoPro back, he didn’t know what would happen.
After the alligator left, Bobby retrieved the camera and discovered it had only minor damage. Luckily, he was safe and uninjured, and the crocodile was fine.
Although crocodiles do not usually attack adults, they can move extremely quickly and attack children.
Photographers like Bobby should use a longer telephoto lens for their own safety and be able to capture good footage of these wildlife.
