VN-Index dropped nearly 60 points

Pausing in the morning session, VN-Index dropped 47.23 points (3.55%) to 1,282.03 points. On HOSE, there were 424 losers, 28 gainers and 16 standstill stocks. All 30 stocks in the VN30 group fell. The VN30-Index fell 43.64 points (3.18%) to 1,329.57 points.

Not stopping there, selling pressure increased when the afternoon session opened. VN-Index was deeply pressed, sometimes losing more than 62 points and breaking a series of important support levels such as 1,280 points, 1,270 points.

30 large-cap stocks all fell, in which a series of key stocks such as CTG, MWG, PLX, SSI lost all their range and had no buyers. All 10 stocks that have the most negative impact on the VN-Index belong to this basket, in which the leading are three banking codes BID, VPB and TCB.

The decreasing range was narrow after the order matching session to determine the closing price, but it was not significant. VN-Index closed at 1,270 points, losing more than 59 points compared to reference, marking the biggest drop in two weeks and returning to the lowest price range since July 2021.

According to data from VietstockFinance, only by the end of April, the whole stock market had 382 shares trading below par value, accounting for nearly a quarter of the total of 1,616 stocks. Particularly on the two listed exchanges HOSE and HNX, there are 110 stocks out of a total of 757 codes being traded. In which, there are codes with nearly 50% reduction in value.

In particular, the “family” of FLC stocks on HOSE have decreased continuously in April until now, these codes are all trading below par value, even many stocks are under 5,000 VND/share such as ROS priced at 4,590 dong, KLF for 4,100 dong, HAI for 3,980 dong, AMD for 4,300 dong.

Despite being below par value, many stocks on HOSE still have high daily trading volume.
