The future of crossing traffic jams with flying cars

Some US technology companies claim to have found a new future for aviation, which is pilotless aircraft as a convenient means of transportation in cities often congested with traffic. According to the companies, the pilotless drone could make air travel cheaper and more efficient.

Difficult urban mobility is motivating aspiring entrepreneurs looking for a future where commuters need only catch a flying taxi to get through any congested roads. Several American companies are building electric planes to move toward that future. Mall roofs or courtyards can be used as take-offs or landings for these electric planes.

Mr. Marc Piette – Director of Xwing Aviation Company – said: “We’re building the future of aviation, that’s what we want. Right now, we’re converting planes into pilotless planes.”

Archer said the current hurdle is building the infrastructure and changing people’s attitudes so that flying taxis can become a part of everyday life.

The need to get rid of congested urban roads can make many people’s psyches ready for a change. When you can’t go forward, you can only fly.

Start-up company Xwing believes that pilotless aircraft can completely meet this need, even at a low price. Miami and Los Angeles have begun to explore the potential of flying taxis. By the end of 2024, one of these two cities will likely have a flying taxi service.

“We can reduce the cost of flying. We can also change the business model. From flying buses, which are commercial planes today, to flying taxis. When there is no need for pilots anymore, the plane will be smaller, but still retain the number of passenger seats” – Mr. Marc Piette shared.

According to US airline companies, within the next few years, a network of short- or long-haul flying taxis will appear. And people will be given back the time that is usually lost in traffic jams.
