Mr. Phil LeClerc discovered a small component fell out of the bookcase when buying the desk. He assumed that the table seemed to be missing something but couldn’t figure it out right away. Bringing the table home, he immediately examined the drawers and secret slots of the item.

“I hit the table and when the knob popped out, the envelope fell. The first thing I saw was a $500 bond. Then I found more, including a stack of 6 bonds worth 10,000 USD (about 230 million VND).” Phil LeClerc recalls.
It is known that the total amount of bonds that the man found is worth up to 127,000 USD (about 2.9 billion VND). After a moment of surprise, he began to think about the bonds he had just found and worried whether the former owner of the table knew that he had lost so much wealth.
From the auction center, he learned that the seller of the table was the son of a 94-year-old man. Because the old man was seriously ill and needed treatment, the son sold some of the old things in the house to collect money for his father’s medical treatment, as well as take care of his daily living expenses. In the end, Mr. Phil LeClerc decided to send the table and the money back to the auction center, thereby returning it to the real owner.
