Recently released from prison, Chau made fake number plates attached to motorbikes to steal property. In just a short time, the subject has successfully carried out 6 cases of property theft in residential areas and houses.
On May 18, the Criminal Police Team of Son Tra District (Da Nang City) detained Doan Thanh Chau (SN 1975, residing in Thanh Khe) to investigate the act of “theft of property”.
According to the investigation, from the age of 18 until now, Chau has spent more time in prison than at home with 6 sentences (total of 28 years in prison). Most recently, he was sentenced to 17 years in prison for “theft of property” and “fraudulent appropriation of property”.
Recently released from prison, Chau made fake number plates attached to motorbikes to steal. From March 2022 to April 19, 2022, Chau successfully carried out 6 thefts in Son Tra and Cam Le districts with a total asset value of nearly 150 million VND.
Typically, on March 28, Chau arrived in front of the motel room on Duong Dinh Nghe street (An Hai Bac ward, Son Tra district) and stole an iPad Air 4 tablet. Not stopping, Chau continued to break into other motel rooms to steal add an iPhone Xs Max phone.
On April 6, April 8, April 15 and April 19, Chau repeatedly broke into motels, houses, etc. to steal many other valuable properties.
The object is mainly targeted at vulnerable families, stealing tablets and mobile phones to easily disperse assets and take money to spend.
