Forcing his wife to kill a colleague because of suspicion of adultery

Armando Barron, 32, of New Hampshire, was found guilty of murdering 25-year-old Jonathan Amerault and 12 other counts in the September 2020 murder. Armando received two life sentences, plus 45 years in prison in the sentencing trial on May 27.

Britany Barron, 33, testified that Armando got angry when he found out she and Jonathan, a colleague from the same company, were texting each other. Armando assaulted his wife for hours at home, holding a gun to his mouth.

In court, Britany confessed to having kissed Jonathan twice.

Armando threatened her “don’t do anything stupid or the kids will get in trouble”. He then used Britany’s phone to text Jonathan to lure Jonathan to Annett Park, September 2020. Upon meeting, Armando assaulted Jonathan and ordered Britany to shoot him. She refused and was forced to cut Jonathan’s wrist.

Both were forced into the car by Armando. Jonathan begged her to use a machete on the floor of the car against Armando, but she dared not out of fear. Armando shot Jonathan three times.

They then drove to a remote campsite 200 miles from home, and Armando forced Britany to dispose of the body so police could not identify it.

Jonathan was reported missing by his family after he failed to show up for work. The car and the victim’s body were found the next day. At the time, Britany was still at the campsite and was immediately arrested.

Last year, Britany pleaded guilty to three counts of tampering with evidence and was released on conditional bail last month.
