Russia: Fire at a shopping center in Moscow, at least 2 people were injured

Big fire at the Grand Setun Plaza commercial complex in Moscow starting at about 10 a.m. local time, leaving two people injured, RT reported. The shopping center mentioned above is located southwest of Moscow, the area affected by the fire is up to 1,000 square meters.
“The fire in the Grand Setun Plaza shopping center has been extinguished. Two victims were taken to the emergency room, not life-threatening, one person received medical emergency on the spot” – Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin informed .
According to multiple Russian news agencies, between 15 and 20 people were trapped inside the burning mall. However, the Moscow operations center said that 125 people had been rescued by emergency response forces from the burning building.
Russia’s Emergencies Ministry also announced that two people were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Witnesses told state media they smelled a burning smell like electrical wires during the evacuation.
Video from the scene of the fire showed thick smoke rising from the building’s facade. The Baza cable channel reported that the fire had spread to the first five floors of the building and those who could not get out took shelter on the sixth and seventh floors as well as the roof.
Helicopters were deployed by Russian authorities to drop water on the burning building to put out the fire, and hundreds of members of emergency forces were deployed at the scene.
The Interfax news agency, citing multiple sources, said that Russian officials believed that the fire was likely caused by an electrical short. Meanwhile, other news outlets said investigators were looking into whether the fire was related to arson.
