Hi Liem Tran, how do you feel when the posted pictures are spreading all over MXH?
My original intention when making that set of photos was to post it online for fun after the proposal. Before that, I found actor Binh An interesting to do so, so I also decided to follow, not expecting such great attention. Seeing everyone happy for the two of us makes me so happy. And my friends complained, asking to delete Facebook because every time I open it, I see my face everywhere. (Laugh).
As shared in groups, you and that person have been together for 9 years, where did you two meet and go to this day?
At that time, we were all students, I was in 11th grade and Thuyen was in 10th grade. In one of Thuyen’s trips with my best friend, we had a chat and was “matched” by that best friend. We both have a lot of similarities, so I decided to ask for a phone number to talk. I “held the saw” cheesy for more than half a month before Thuyen agreed. Indeed, I have to thank my friend who made me and Thuyen apricots, if not, I’m still too fluffy right now…
What was your first impression of your lover?
Thuyen’s skin was a bit dark at that time, but her features were very pretty and rustic. Hair is always left straight. At that time, female students didn’t use a lot of makeup, so I liked the simple look even more.

Starting a romantic relationship since both were just students, how did their families react?
I’ve known Thuyen for 1 year, then I debuted with my family at a school concert. At that time, my parents did not say or comment because they did not interact much. After a while, when I brought my girlfriend home. From that day on, everything, my parents reminded Thuyen, eat delicious food and go out with Thuyen, … in general, I was “disgraced” there.
On the contrary, Thuyen’s family also loves her very much. At first, her father was a bit difficult because both of them were still of school age anyway. But when they got to know me, they were still very happy and considered me like a child in the family.
9 years is a long time, what’s the secret to being together for so long?
We really don’t have any tips. Perhaps, because the two of them share the same thoughts about love affairs, do not dream of someone better than the other, so they are always together. I see life for me to choose a lover, choose a wrong person, choose again, and choose right, don’t dream of someone else being more perfect. In particular, in love, if you don’t agree with any point, you should openly comment and change together, so it will last longer.

Were there any memorable moments in your relationship?
I’ll probably never forget that time, when Thuyen first moved to Ho Chi Minh City, the two rented a house together, the job was not stable, so they kept missing first. Neither of them dared to ask for help from their families because they didn’t want to be an extra burden on their parents. Even, sometimes, I have to pledge all valuable things from Thuyen’s earrings and car papers to have money to pay for in the city, waiting for the day I receive my salary. At such times, even what to eat, the two of them think for a long time to choose the cheapest dish to save money.
Currently, I have bought a house of my own, the economy is better than before, but we still keep the old habit of saving and spending wisely. But every time we think back, we still feel very proud because despite the end of difficulties, we still choose to be for each other.
Have you ever had a disagreement or had an argument? In each argument, who makes up first?
I’m really embarrassed when it comes to arguing, my personality is so ugly, when I get hot, I don’t think about it at all, when I argue, I say things that hurt others or talk about breaking up. After 7749 times, but I can’t do it, I think again, I have to change myself. My girlfriend is also very considerate waiting for me to change. Also, she was always the one to make up first. Now I’ve also improved 90%, less hot-tempered than before.
Is her personality also what made you decide to get married?
Part of that is, the rest is because we went through many ups and downs together and built our careers together, so we feel that no one understands and deserves us as much as the other side. Many times a girlfriend doesn’t need to say she understands the problem herself or vice versa. So if I can choose again, the person I marry is still Thuyen.
How long did it take you to shoot and plan this proposal?
That set of photos I made about half a month before the date of the proposal. After I bought the ring, I kept looking at it, sometimes I just wanted to run out and show it to my lover, but I tried to hold back so that she was really surprised. As for the plan to propose, I also calculated 3 months in advance and asked for the help of “the maid and her friends” to be able to come up with ideas and choose a suitable location.
How does she feel after knowing that you have carried the ring so many times?
Thuyen couldn’t believe she had done that either. Because she is always confident that she is a sensitive person, very attentive. But I’m also very quick, after taking a photo, I put it in the hidden section immediately. There were a few times when I forgot, almost revealed that my efforts were ruined. (Laugh).
People often say, marriage is the “grave” of love, what do you think about this view?
I think this view is only true for couples who have just met, or have known each other for a long time, but still do not understand each other, have not experienced difficulties together. If there is a rush in marriage, when getting married, many problems will arise. As for me and Thuyen getting married, life still goes on as before, the problems that happened before we both solved it together.
My girlfriend and I have lived together for about 6 years, at that time there were many disagreeable opinions. But gradually, because they love each other, they become the best versions of each other’s needs. So I think, this concept probably excludes us.
How did you two plan your wedding?
We plan to hold a wedding near the end of this year, both families have already chosen the end date. When the wedding is over, we will travel to many places to make up for the time spent burying our heads in work.
