Although the oil exporting countries have announced they will increase production and in fact the price of crude oil has fallen, but at European gas stations, fuel prices are still very high.

In Rome, according to the newspaper Corriere della Sera of Italy on Thursday (2/6) last week, the price of diesel oil has surpassed the psychological threshold of 2 Euro a liter.

According to the photo on the newspaper page, diesel costs equivalent to 51,000 VND / liter, gasoline price 2.18 Euro (nearly 55,000 VND / liter). The Italian government has decided to temporarily reduce the excise tax on gasoline until June 30 to keep prices down.

In Spain, the price of gasoline has not yet surpassed the 2 Euro threshold, but it is already the highest level ever. Chart on sheet La Voz de Galicia shows that fuel prices have risen almost vertically in recent weeks, outpacing all past highs.

The article reads: “Compared to a year ago, 1 liter of gasoline is 48.4% more expensive, while diesel is 56.6% more expensive. After the recent price hike, the tax reduction measure is 20 cents per liter of gasoline. government is almost meaningless.

Measures that can be used to keep gasoline prices in check have been maximized since the November 2021 price hike. This price increase, European countries seem to have run out of ideas, only to reduce taxes on gasoline.

Sheet Lidove noviny published in the Czech Republic on Thursday (June 2) wrote that: “Czech petrol stations have begun to lower their prices thanks to the excise tax reduction of about 2 couronne per liter of petrol”.

The article lists the measures of other European countries, the vast majority of excise tax cuts, France and Spain providing travel subsidies for all households regardless of whether they have a car or not, only Hungary and Slovenia pressure ceiling for gasoline prices.

However, gasoline prices skyrocketed, but not scarce, no European country has had to limit the amount of fuel per purchase.

Sheet Thuringer Allgemeine published in Germany wrote: “There are no queues at gas stations, and no driver has to worry about not being able to fill the tank.” Germany, in addition to drastically reducing fuel taxes, also encourages people to switch to public transport, with this initiative from June 1, selling a special ticket, priced at only 9 euros, used for both trains and buses throughout the month.

“Railways alone were able to sell more than 7 million tickets nationwide in the first days of the 9-euro ticket,” the newspaper said.
