Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee agrees to support tuition fees from the school year 2022-2023

Considering the Report No. 1592/SGDDT-KHTC (May 19, 2022) of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City on the policy of building tuition support levels for public and non-public secondary schools from the school year 2022 – 2023 and the following school years in Ho Chi Minh City, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City approves the proposal of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, unifying the policy of building higher education standards. Tuition support for public and non-public students in Ho Chi Minh City from the school year from 2022 to 2023.

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to chair and coordinate with the Department of Finance, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Department of Justice to research and develop an appropriate level of support for all levels of education. (except primary school) in order to reduce the social impact due to the adjustment of tuition fees according to Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP (August 27, 2021) of the Government.

At the same time, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City develops a draft of the Report to advise the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to submit to the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City in accordance with the regulations on promulgating legal documents before June 15, 2022.

Previously, in the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in order to reduce the impact of tuition fees adjustment, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City proposed the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to approve the policy of supporting public secondary school fees. and non-public schools from the school year 2022-2023 and subsequent school years equal to the public tuition fee at the lower secondary level, which is expected to be submitted to the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City for approval according to regulations.
