Ninh Thuan approves spending more than 9 billion VND to support the development of hi-tech agriculture

Accordingly, Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee decided to deduct funds to support districts and cities in the province in agricultural development and support to attract investment in hi-tech agriculture with an amount of more than 9.4 billion VND.

Specifically, the province will allocate and support 7 districts and cities with a budget of nearly 245 million dong to invest in building a water-saving irrigation system for crops; financial support of more than 290 million dong for the districts of Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Thuan Nam, Thuan Bac and Phan Rang – Thap Cham city to convert crops such as grapes, apples and some upland crops; funding over 885 million dong for localities to develop cooperation, support seeds, materials and associate large-field production associated with agricultural product consumption; at the same time, supporting more than 3 billion VND for 5 high-tech agricultural projects in the area.

Ninh Thuan province is promoting the application of high technology in agricultural production to form large-scale areas and projects and produce high-quality agricultural products to meet market demand; turning hi-tech agriculture into a spearhead in local economic development.

After nearly 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU dated October 10, 2016 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee (term XIII), the application of scientific and technical advances to production in the province strongly implemented in many fields. The province has paid attention to directing the planning and formation of a number of high-tech agricultural production areas; Many establishments and enterprises have invested in piloting a number of models of production of plant varieties and animals with good yield and quality. Some specific agricultural products of the province are approaching the application of high technology to develop commodity-oriented products.

In the period of 2021-2025, Ninh Thuan province sets a target that the agricultural value growth rate will reach 3-4%/year; in which, the growth rate of agricultural production value applying high technology is 30-40%/year.

By promoting the application of science and technology to production, localities in the province have turned the sun and wind into an advantage in the development of specific crops of high economic value, a number of specific products of the province. such as grapes, apples, green asparagus, shrimp seed… have confirmed competitive advantages, brands and markets. In fact, investment in agricultural production according to high-tech model for production value of over 1 hectare reaches 300 million VND/year, some models such as growing cantaloupe, green asparagus reach over 1 billion VND, higher than much more than traditional production.
