Dai Quang Minh Market has a relatively modest area, most of the infrastructure has deteriorated, the whole market has only one public toilet area. Small businesses believe that such an increase in ground rent is not commensurate with the facilities.

Mr. Vo Thanh Toi – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ward 14, District 5 said: “Satraseco Company has been equitized, operating under the law on enterprises. The view of the ward is that this is a civil case between the company and the small business. The ward only tries to act as a bridge for the two parties to agree on the contents of the contract.”

138 small traders in Dai Quang Minh market wrote to stop selling. Many people said that this is a livelihood that has been attached for many years, written like that just to put pressure on Satraseco to have a collective dialogue with small businesses to find a solution, but no one really wants to stop selling.

Satraseco’s representative had a meeting with VTV reporter, but refused to give a direct interview. A representative of this unit said: “The increase in the stall rental price is in line with the market. Satraseco will have a preferential policy for stalls that sign a contract early. This unit wishes to have a private dialogue with each small merchant to satisfy the needs of the market. If we cannot find a common voice, we will sue the stall owner in accordance with the law.”

On July 1, the time when Satraseco required small businesses that had not signed a contract to return the counter was not far away. But so far, the two sides have not found a common voice.
