6 ways to detect hidden cameras in hotel rooms, never be too careful

1. Carefully observe with the naked eye, under sunlight
Before using any hidden camera device or tip, you can detect it by the most manual way: observing. If the room has large windows, leave them wide open to let in natural light, otherwise turn on as many lights as you can and view all locations in turn. Some special angles to note, touch directly such as:
– Wall mounted items, pictures, clocks, air purifiers, fire alarms…

2. The sound in the phone
Do the following:
– Make a phone call (with a regular carrier, not over WiFi).
– Walk around the room, notice the location of the phone ringing, losing signal. At this time, the phone is suffering from electromagnetic interference, please check it carefully.
3. Turn off the light combined with the flash, the phone camera
Most hidden cameras are equipped with red or green LEDs, if they are in hidden places they will blink more due to poor lighting. When you turn off all the lights in the room, observe those signs, you can close your eyes for about 5 seconds and then open them, your eyes will adapt to the dark and make observations easier.
Also, you should use your phone’s Flash/flashlight when the naked eye can’t see it. Shine the light across the room, if there is another recording device, it will reflect the light.
Another way is to turn on the phone camera and also shoot around the room in recording mode. If there is an object that is another camera, it will reflect or show a light spot on the screen.
4. Check WiFi
To transfer data to a storage unit or other device reader, modern hidden cameras require a WiFi connection. Open the WiFi finder on the smartphone to scan, if the device name is a series of meaningless letters and numbers, it is most likely coming from a hidden camera.
5. Use the app on your phone

6. Notice the mirror on the wall in the bedroom, bathroom
Check if the mirror is a two-way mirror by placing your finger perpendicular to the mirror surface. If the finger and the fingertip reflection are spaced apart, it’s a normal mirror, and if they touch each other, it’s a two-way mirror, most likely there’s a camera on the other side.
