Do I need a transit visa to transit in Korea?

Next June I will fly to Canada, have a full visa. I am wondering about transit in Korea.

I checked the information online and found that if I already have a Canadian visa, I can transit in Korea without any more transit visa. However, there are also people who say that if you book tickets from two different airlines, you need a transit visa because you need to self-transfer (go pick up your luggage on the next flight).

When I check the flight on SkyScanner, there is Asiana Airlines that has a flight to Korea and the connecting flight they say is partly operated by Air Canada, so these are two different airlines, but they mentioned “Baggage checked through” (automatic baggage transfer).

So can anyone tell me if I choose this trip, do I need a transit visa in Korea? Sincere thanks.
