“Recently, many people suddenly received phone messages with the message of the “wanting order” from the police. The text of the message also clearly stated the wanted behavior. When receiving the above-mentioned content messages, many people are confused because they have not been equipped with the necessary legal knowledge, creating conditions for criminals to commit crimes,” said expert Dao. For acts of a higher nature, they will be handled according to criminal sanctions. Specifically, those who impersonate the police to appropriate other people’s property valued at between VND 2 million and under VND 50 million, or under VND 2 million but commit fraud, will be subject to non-custodial reform for up to 3 years. or imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years.

In case the offender appropriates property valued from 50 million VND to under 200 million VND, he will be sentenced to between 2 years and 7 years of imprisonment.

If the appropriated property is worth between VND 200 million and under VND 500 million, the violator will be sentenced to between 7 and 15 years of imprisonment. Where the appropriated property is worth more than 500 million VND, the fraudster will be sentenced to between 12 and 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
