5 regions will welcome international visitors in November

Phu Quoc, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Da Nang and Quang Ninh have been approved by the Government to welcome international visitors this month.

On the afternoon of November 2, the Government Office announced the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh approving a pilot route to welcome international guests, as proposed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Thus, Vietnam opens to the world in 3 phases. Phase 1 (starting November), welcomes guests according to the package program, through international commercial and charter flights in certain areas and tourist service points in Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province). ), Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ninh.

Phase 2 (starting January 2022) expands and connects destinations in the 5 regions mentioned above. Visitors can visit these places after the first 7 days of local trip.

Phase 3 is fully open to international visitors. The start time will be based on the epidemic situation and the results of the two phases above.

According to the provisional guidance draft of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, guests participating in the pilot program are foreigners and Vietnamese living abroad. Minimum requirements to have a certificate of full-dose Covid-19 vaccine or disease treatment; had a negative result for nCoV by RT-PCR method 72 hours before departure; have health or travel insurance including Covid-19 medical coverage with a minimum of 50,000 USD and participate in one tour package. Children under the age of 12 traveling with a parent or guardian do not need a vaccination certificate.

Entering visitors must take their temperature, install the IGOVN application created by the Ministry of Public Security and use it during their stay in Vietnam. On the first day of admission, visitors are taken to accommodation facilities and self-tested for nCoV, continuing to participate in the program if the results are negative. If positive, they will be taken to a medical facility and the costs will be covered by insurance or travel agents.

In the first 7 days, visitors must adhere to the schedule, ensure 5K and recommend self-testing every 2-3 days. During the process, if you have symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, etc., it is necessary to inform the medical staff for a screening test. At the end of 7 days, those who continue to stay in Vietnam must test themselves for Covid-19, otherwise negative results will be allowed to go to other areas. Those wishing to visit relatives must register with the organizers.

The first local People’s Committees to pilot welcome guests must vaccinate people and workers in the tourism industry and have detailed instructions for welcoming international guests to the region.

Vietnam has been closed to international visitors since March 2020, when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, allowing entry only to foreign experts.
