Nearly 300 players compete at the National Team Chess Championship 2022

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of Kien Giang Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, Mr. Nguyen Van Sau said, this is an important tournament of Vietnamese Chess, an opportunity for tournaments to take place. Players can rub, gain experience and improve their performance in competition. Thereby, assessing the professional qualifications, considering the selection of athletes to attend the 2022 National Gymnastics and Sports Games and selecting the National Team to participate in international tournaments in the following years. 2022 – 2023.

By hosting the national tournament, Kien Giang province hopes to promote the development of chess and the province’s sports movement. At the same time, contributing to introduce and promote the image of Kien Giang being friendly, beautiful and hospitable to friends from other provinces and cities attending the tournament.

The National Team Chess Championship 2022 brings together nearly 300 strong players from 21 provinces, cities and industries in the country to compete. Notably strong players such as Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Tran Tuan Minh, Dao Thien Hai, Nguyen Anh Dung, Le Tuan Minh, Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy, Nguyen Duc Hoa, Nguyen Van Huy, Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Nguyen Thi Thanh An…

Particularly, Kien Giang has 28 players competing at the tournament, in which outstanding faces such as Vo Thanh Ninh, Bao Khoa, Lu Chan Hung, Vu Hoang Gia Bao, Vu Thi Dieu Ai, Pham Minh Hieu, Vu Thi Dieu Uyen… The players competed in 3 events: fast chess, standard chess and lightning doubles for men, women’s mixed doubles according to the 9-game Swiss system.

Taking place in the nationwide atmosphere to celebrate major holidays of the year, celebrate the 76th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2022), continue to promote the All People campaign Following the example of the great Uncle Ho, the National Team Chess Championship 2022 will close on April 4.
