Why has Ho Chi Minh City not allowed F0 to work?

At the press conference on the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic and economic recovery, the reporter questioned the reason why Ho Chi Minh City has not allowed F0 goes to work like many other cities. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai, Chief of the Office of the Health Department of Ho Chi Minh City, gave explanations for the reasons why F0 has not been allowed to go to school or work.

Specifically, although the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths are decreasing sharply, the number of severe cases has not been sustainable. Many patients are still seriously ill, in some cases requiring invasive mechanical ventilation.

As of March 24, hospitals in the city are treating 4,274 patients, including 84 critically ill patients on ventilators, 5 patients undergoing ECMO intervention. On March 23, there were 566 patients hospitalized, 697 patients discharged, 2 deaths.

According to Ms. Huynh Mai’s analysis, if the risk of COVID-19 patients is not well controlled, the city will face an increase in the number of patients who become seriously ill and die.

From the above fact, the Department of Health has advised the City People’s Committee to issue a document guiding health measures for close contacts (F1). In the immediate future, the city has allowed F1 to work and F1 students to go to school on the condition that they must be controlled to avoid spreading the disease. The health sector continues to set the goal of epidemic control to ensure security, order and safety for society in order to have stable economic development.

Sharing more about the fact that F0 has not been allowed to go to school or work, Nguyen Hong Tam, deputy director of the city’s Center for Disease Control, said that currently, the Ministry of Health has proposed to allow F0 to work conditionally. in case it is really necessary and must ensure translation safety criteria, not all F0 can go to work.
