Previously, at about 9pm on March 23, local authorities received news about the accident at Xuan Van wharf, leaving Ms. H. (30 years old, residing in Xuan Van commune) and her 5-year-old child missing.

Immediately after, the functional forces urgently searched for the mother and daughter.

Chairman of Xuan Van Commune People’s Committee said: “We and the people will continue to search for Ms. H’s 5-year-old child.”

The initial cause was said to be heavy rain, which caused the water to rush and carry a lot of garbage that stuck to the rudder, and when the boat was drifting, it collided with an obstacle, leading to the accident.
