Rolls-Royce stops accepting production of two car lines, waiting for new electric super products

Two super luxury two-door models Rolls-Royce Wraith and Rolls-Royce Dawn officially stopped production.

The fact that these two two-door super luxury cars will be killed in the US from 2021 is mainly because of new regulations on safety and emissions. However, these two cars have also recently been announced to stop accepting more orders in all markets around the world.

Part of the reason why Rolls-Royce stopped accepting applications for the Wraith and Dawn comes from the overwhelming order list, another part is that these two models will be replaced by the upcoming Rolls-Royce Specter electric car and the new version. its convertible version. Although it has stopped accepting new orders, the current number of orders for these two models will keep the line running continuously from now until at least the beginning of next year.

In the future, the electric Rolls-Royce Specter will be the only super-luxury coupe in its product portfolio. Besides this model, its electric two-door convertible will also go on sale. Rolls-Royce Specter is developed on Rolls-Royce’s all-new Architecture of Luxury platform, similar to the three Phantom (VIII), New Ghost and Cullinan models. The platform has been modified to better accommodate an all-electric powertrain and this was all part of the original plan.

This electric vehicle will have to complete up to 2.5 million km of practical tests in all climates around the world. This test will simulate a vehicle life span of up to 400 years to ensure the car is truly ready before launch.

Mr. Torsten Muller-Otvos said the car will be officially launched sometime in late 2022, early 2023, depending on the actual development process. Electric Rolls-Royce Specters will begin to reach customers for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2023.

After the Specter, many other Rolls-Royce models will also gradually be electrified. First, familiar names like Ghost, Phantom or Cullinan will be hybridized powertrains. These iconic models will then become fully electric sometime in the early 2030s.
