With more FPT and Mobile World, the number of businesses with market capitalization of over 100,000 billion dong sets a new record
At the end of April 1st session, FPT stock hit a new peak of 111,000 dong, bringing the market capitalization of this technology company to over 100,000 billion dong for the first time, reaching 100,738 billion dong. A few days ago, Mobile World Investment (MWG) also quickly passed the 100 trillion dong mark and now has a market capitalization of 111,000 billion dong.
Along with the return of Sabeco and Viettel Global to this milestone, the Vietnamese stock exchange currently has 18 companies with a capitalization of over 100,000 billion VND – a record number ever. The number of billion-dollar enterprises is also at a record level with 64 enterprises.
The largest enterprise by market capitalization is Vietcombank (VND 291,800 billion, equivalent to USD 12.9 billion). The capitalization of this bank has increased continuously from 2017 to now. Currently, the capitalization of Vietcombank, Vingroup and Vingroup is still quite superior to the rest.
Most of the market’s key players increased in size from 2017 to now, except Vinamilk and Sabeco.
It used to be in the top 10 in market capitalization for a long time, but with a market capitalization of only VND 171,000 billion, Vinamilk is no longer in the Top 10. At the end of 2017, Vinamilk’s value was still over 300,000 billion VND.
The current capitalization of Sabeco is even lower than the amount of VND 110,000 billion that ThaiBev used to spend to buy a 53.6% stake at the end of 2017.
