With health standards, in addition to the general criteria of physical strength, eyes, ears – nose – throat, teeth – jaw – face, internal medicine, neuropsychiatry, surgery, dermatology and obstetrics and gynecology (for women), Schools have their own regulations on height, weight and refractive error.

A group of schools to train commanding, political and logistics officers, including the Academy of Logistics, Air Defense – Air Force, Navy, Border Guard and officer schools of Army 1, Army 2, Politics, Artillery , Engineer, Tank – Armor, Information, Special Forces, Chemical Defense, requires male from 1.65 m or more, weight from 50 kg. Eyes are not nearsighted. This group of schools does not recruit girls.

Schools that train officers with professional and technical expertise, including the Academy of Military Technology, Military Medicine, and Military Science; The training system for aeronautical engineers under the Air Defense Academy – Air Force requires a male of 1.63 m or more, weighing from 50 kg; Female contestants must be from 1.54 m, weighing from 48 kg. Eyes with nearsightedness no more than 3 diopters. Candidates in disadvantaged areas, ethnic minorities according to regulations will have their height standards lowered.

This year, the Ministry expects candidates to apply for university admission after the high school graduation exam. Currently, the Ministry does not have specific instructions on adjusting aspirations. However, military schools allow candidates to adjust their aspirations according to groups.

Group 1 includes Academy of Logistics, Navy, Border Guard, Air Defense – Air Force (Command of Staff) and officer schools of Army 1, Army 2, Politics, Special Forces, Artillery, Tank- Armor, Chemical Defense, Information, Engineers.

Group 2 includes the Academy of Military Technology, Military Medicine, Military Science, Air Defense – Air Force (Aeronautical Engineering System).

For example, when applying for pre-qualification, candidates who have already registered for Army Officer School 1, when applying for admission, they can adjust their aspirations to another school in group 1 but cannot transfer to schools belonging to group 1. group 2 and vice versa.
