Requesting Japan to urgently investigate the murder of Vietnamese citizens

Vietnam asked Japanese authorities to urgently investigate the murder of a female citizen in Osaka city last weekend.

“The Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka has discussed with the local authorities and requested to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the incident, and at the same time contacted the Vietnamese community in Osaka to find out more information. news,” said Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang at a press conference today.

Statements made by Mrs. Hang when answering questions of VnExpress about the murder of citizen Vo Thi Le Quyen, 31 years old, in Osaka, Japan. Quyen’s body was discovered by Osaka police in an apartment on the second floor of a building in Yodogawa prefecture on April 4.

Authorities two days later ordered the arrest of Toshiie Yamaguchi, 59, an employee of a transportation company in the Mitsuyanaka area, Yodogawa prefecture, Osaka, on charges of murder.

Security cameras recorded Yamaguchi going to the restaurant where Ms. Quyen worked and invited her to his apartment on the morning of April 3. Police came to check Yamaguchi’s apartment on the evening of April 3 and found that he was in critical condition with a cut in his neck, so he was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

When returning to investigate the scene the next morning, the police discovered Ms. Quyen’s body hidden behind a TV shelf. Japanese media quoted Yamaguchi’s testimony as saying that the suspect admitted to killing Ms. Quyen to rob her property.

Ms. Hang expressed her deep condolences to the victim’s family and said that the Vietnamese diplomatic mission would support the post-mortem arrangements according to the wishes of the relatives.

Vo Thi Le Quyen was born in 1990 in Long An, used to be a Japanese language teacher for many Japanese interns and students while in Vietnam. In 2017, after getting married, Quyen went to Japan to reunite with her husband in Osaka city, western this country.

Hoa Lac Temple in Osaka, Kobe Province, Japan will coordinate with the family to organize a funeral for Ms. Quyen and a funeral ceremony on April 8. Ms. Quyen’s ashes are expected to be placed at Hoa Lac Pagoda, waiting to be brought back to Vietnam.
