The person who brought yacht culture into Vietnam

As a French national, Mr. Doan Viet Dai Tu has a passion for sea excursions. In 2017, the president of Openasia launched Tamson Yachting, which focuses on the travel and yachting industry.

When talking about yachts, Mr. Dai Tu said that the key is service, because yachts are very complicated things to maintain and operate, and there is no yacht culture in Vietnam. Therefore, Openasia aims to develop an ecosystem specializing in high-end tourism.

According to him, the key point of the yacht business is the service. “You sell boats, you have to guarantee the service. If not, you should not think about it, because that is not respecting your own customers,” the Openasia website quoted the president as saying.

Pursuing this, since opening Tamson Yachting, Mr. Tu has set up a technical team to do the service. According to this giant, the yacht is a 5-star hotel. The captain is a professional guide: they need to have enough knowledge to meet the needs of the cruiser, about the river, about the sea, about the places to go. Along with that, they are also your closest friends: the one who ensures your safety, provides you with every beautiful experience, entertains and listens to you when needed.

The captain is also a hotel manager: someone who makes sure all rooms are clean, even when they’re not there, but in the cockpit. Therefore, they need to be thoroughly trained, not only in equipment maintenance but also in the operation of luxury services.

“Just like you can customize with Hermès and Audi products, Monte Carlo offers the same great customizability as a real super mega yacht in just the size of a much smaller version, like the 56 or 105 feet. Besides, Monte Cardo is also very famous for its Italian aesthetic, which has brought the company a series of prestigious awards every year,” said the president of Openasia about the yacht he chose to distribute.

“When a man buys a yacht (most yacht buyers are men), they want to treat it like a lover. They can’t leave their lover at the bus stop and let her take care of herself,” said Dai Tu.

That is why in Saigon, he has 2 marinas, one in Vinhomes Central Park, the other in Swan Bay.

In addition to distribution, the owner of Openasia also said that he will develop a yacht rental service as well as plan to operate various types of water games.
