The 42km distance of VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2022 has 748 athletes participating. 31 of these people reached sub3 (under 3 hours), including two female runners, Pham Thi Hue and Pham Thi Binh. This is the record of the number of people running sub3 in the movement tournaments in Vietnam, marking a new development step of the Vietnamese running village.

There were 97 runners completing the FM track with a sub 3:30 record. At the HM distance with 1492 athletes participating, 33 runners achieved a sub 1:30 record. These are numbers that reflect the high professional quality of the tournament. Bui The Anh, Le Tan Hi, Dao Minh Thien, Pham Thi Hue are excellent names, leaving the most impressions.
This year, the tournament was pushed to compete early, from 3:30 am, the temperature is ideal, the running route is beautiful with many long straight stretches, creating favorable conditions for athletes to accelerate. VnExpress Marathon Hue 2022 witnessed the championship change hands. The two top athletes in FM distance are Bui The Anh and Pham Thi Hue, respectively. The British won first place with a time of 2:34:52. Meanwhile, Pham Thi Hue broke the VM record with a time of 2:50:33. The previous best record belonged to Hong Le at 2:52:41.

VnExpress Marathon Hue also has 4 legs to break the age group record at 42km, including Nguyen Thi Duong (female 31-39 years old), Hua Thanh Giang (female 40-49 years old), Nguyen Dong Dinh (male 40-49 years old). and Nguyen Quang Phi (male 50-59 years old). The organizers also awarded a total of 108 prizes with a total value of nearly 800 million VND.

The organization of the tournament is also highly appreciated by runners. VnExpress Marathon Hue 2022 is the first tournament after more than a year of suspension. The runners also gave many compliments to the image of the tournament. Memorable moments of runners on the road are fully recorded thanks to a team of more than 10 photojournalists and nearly 20 photographers who are densely arranged on the roads and in important locations.

After reaching the finish line, the runners had the opportunity to experience the food and relaxation area with an area of 500 m2 in the campus of Thua Thien – Hue Sports Center. Here, the athletes received massages and free meals. The organizers prepared 4,000 cans of Huda beer, a large amount of Revive electrolyte water, Boncha honey tea, 200kg of Vietnamese-German sausages, shrimp noodles, pho, filter cake, banh nam… to serve 4,700 runners.
