iPhone should be ‘generous’ this to users

For Android phones, expanding internal storage is nothing new. Android smartphones have long included slots for memory upgrades.

Users want the iPhone to also expand the memory like an Android phone

However, in recent years, Android manufacturers, typically Samsung, have moved away from the personal upgrade model, “sealing” the phone and battery, eliminating the external slots.

This is completely understandable, most modern smartphones these days are IP67 or IP68 rated for water resistance to 1m depth for 30 minutes. So if the back of the phone can be easily disassembled, this feature will be affected.

However, in practice manufacturers can use part of the SIM slot space to accommodate microSD cards. If there’s any company that can do this, it should be Apple.

You can buy an iPhone 13 Pro with 1TB of storage, but it will cost you $1,499. There’s no way to buy the $999 iPhone 13 Pro and add a 512GB microSD card for $63.

If you choose to buy the new mid-range iPhone SE, you can opt for the 64GB model for $429 or upgrade to the 256GB model for $579. That means, you have to pay an extra $150 for the 192GB, while a 256GB microSD card costs just $35.

Apple should be more “generous” with future iPhone models, with an SD card slot somewhere on the body, giving consumers more affordable options for storage and pricing. .

Android devices that include a microSD card slot typically allow you to choose to store photos and other files on removable storage. Now, imagine that on an iPhone, instead of having to make decisions about which photos to delete to free up storage, you could keep buying a new, cheap micro-SD card, comfortable photo storage.

If Apple really wants to surprise a few competitors, it should add the option of external storage. Also, if Apple improves the camera system, takes a lot of excellent photos and videos, it should provide more space to store all of that, 5GB of free iCloud storage is not enough. If this turns out to be true, this will be a reasonable budget investment for Apple, bringing more opportunities to many users.
