Pfizer recalls several batches of blood pressure drugs containing carcinogens

Representatives Pfizer states that the pharmaceutical company is not aware of any reports of side effects from the batches Drugs are recalled. These batches of Accupril blood pressure tablets were distributed in the US and Puerto Rico from December 2019 to April 2022.

Pfizer Canada also recalled all Accupril backpacks on April 21 after the same impurity was found to be in excess of the legal limit.

Nitrosamine is common in water and food, but prolonged exposure can increase the risk of cancer.

In March 2022, Pfizer also recalled several batches of another blood pressure drug, Accuretic and two authorized cheaper versions, for possible carcinogenicity.
