[Infographic] How is History taught at all levels?

From the school year 2022 – 2023, students in grade 10 nationwide will start studying new general education program. Accordingly, there are 7 compulsory subjects: Mathematics, Literature, Foreign Languages, Physical Education, National Defense and Security Education, Career Experience Activities, and Local Education.

In addition to the compulsory subjects, students will choose 5 subjects from 3 specific groups: Social Sciences (History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education); Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology); Technology and the arts (Technology, Informatics, Art).

For historyAt the basic education stage, in the whole elementary and junior high school, all students learn the complete, basic and comprehensive history of the Vietnamese nation. At the stage of career-oriented education (grades 10 to 12), History is arranged as a subject in a complex of social sciences. At this stage, students are required to study 5 elective subjects in 3 subject groups (the social science group includes 3 subjects: History, Geography, Economics and law; the natural science group includes 3 subjects: History, Geography, Economics and law; the natural science group includes 3 subjects). Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology; Technology and arts group includes 4 subjects: Informatics, Technology, Music, Fine Arts).
