Founded in 2009 in Delray Beach, Florida, Pet Airways is an airline dedicated to pets like cats and dogs.

On this flight, the pets will make their own flight without the owner accompanying them. The main compartment of the plane is even designed with an aircraft carrier instead of seats.

Each plane can carry around 50 pets, with “pet attendants” checking in on them every 15 minutes. Before take-off, the animals were given a pre-flight walk and rested in the airport’s specially designed bathroom

In 2002, Robert Brooks, president of the Hooters restaurant chain, bought Pace Airlines and transformed it into Hooters Air, an airline designed around the restaurant chain. Here, you will see girls wearing orange shorts, T-shirts with a picture of a big-eyed owl. They will mingle with passengers and organize trivia games with small prizes. They were even called the “Hooters girls”.

However, these “Hooters girls” will not serve food or handle in-flight duties as these are performed by three FAA-certified flight attendants.

Despite its uniqueness, this airline still had to shut down in early 2006 due to rising fuel prices following hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The Lord’s Airline

True to its name, this particular airline strictly prohibits alcohol on board, and only shows religious films, and offers bibles and pentacles (a religious document) instead of in-flight magazines. Even a quarter of the ticket price is used to fund a mission.

Let’s Fly This was founded with businessman Marshall in 1985, when he purchased an old DC-8 that was considered the only plane of the airline. Get three weekly flights from Miami to Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, and one direct flight to Jerusalem. However, by 1987, the airline was not eligible for a license from the FAA because modifications and aircraft maintenance had not been completed. After a series of incidents, this airline has now been canceled.

This is a rare airline that cherishes the idea of providing an in-flight smoking service. The airline is based at the Space Coast Regional airport in Titusville, Florida and plans to offer steaks, burgers on board along with free cigarettes.

However, nearly a year after it was announced, the airline still does not have a license nor a single plane. In the end, despite having up to 5000 employees, and many “nearly” successful times, this airline has never been able to take off.

MGM Grand Air

Inaugurated in 1987, MGM Grand Air is a first-class, ultra-luxury airline. Initially, the airline had only one route – LAX to JFK – using Boeing 727 and Douglas DC-8 aircraft in extremely lavish configurations. With a “no flight is impossible” rule, the luxury airline handles just over 33 passengers per flight, although planes can carry 100 or more in standard settings.

Initially, this luxury airline was very popular with celebrities and the elite. But the airline still struggled to fill all 33 seats on its planes, eventually shutting down MGM Grand Air in 2008.
