Industrial production in the first 4 months of the year increased by 7.5%, the top localities with strong growth did not have central cities

According to the latest report of the General Statistics Office, industrial production in April was estimated to increase by 2% over the previous month and by 9.4% over the same period last year.

The reason is that the Covid-19 epidemic has been controlled, businesses are more proactive in terms of labor and production and business plans, overcoming difficulties to recover and expand production.

Generally, in the first four months of 2022, the industrial production index increased by 7.5% over the same period last year. The index of industrial production (IIP) in April 2022 is estimated to increase by 2% over the previous month and by 9.4% over the same period last year.

In particular, compared to the same period in 2021, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 11.3% (higher than the growth rate of 5.8% and 9.6% of the same period in 2018 and 2019, the years without the Covid-19 epidemic). -19); electricity production and distribution increased by 2.8%; mining industry increased by 2.3%; water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater increased by 0.4%.

Generally, in the first four months of 2022, the industrial production index was estimated to increase by 7.5% over the same period last year (in the same period in 2021, it increased by 9.5%).

In which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 8.3% (in the same period in 2021, it increased by 12.1%), contributing 6.5 percentage points to the overall increase; electricity production and distribution increased by 6.6%, contributing 0.6 percentage points.

In addition, the mining industry also increased by 2.6%, contributing 0.4 percentage points to the overall growth; water supply, waste and wastewater treatment and management activities increased by 1.1%, contributing 0.02 percentage points to the overall increase.

The production index in the first 4 months of 2022 of a number of key level II key industries increased sharply compared to the same period last year and had a higher increase than the same period in 2019 (the year without the Covid-19 epidemic).

Specifically, the apparel manufacturing industry increased by 20.1% (in the same period in 2019 it increased by 7.9%); production of electrical equipment increased by 19.1% (in the same period in 2019 increased by 9.2%); production of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified increased by 13.2% (in the same period in 2019 increased by 10.9%).

Manufacturing of prefabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) increased by 12.8% (in the same period in 2019 increased by 3.9%), leather and related products increased by 12.8% (with the same period in 2019). period in 2019 increased by 8.3%); production of drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and herbal ingredients increased by 11.1% (the same period in 2019 decreased by 3.4%).

On the other hand, the IIP index of a number of industries decreased such as the manufacturing of rubber and plastic products by 12.9%; repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment decreased by 11.5%.

Besides, the production of coke, refined petroleum products decreased by 8.3%; other mining decreased by 4%; drainage and wastewater treatment decreased by 3.3%; crude oil and natural gas extraction fell by 1.7%.

On the local side, according to the General Statistics Office’s report, the industrial production index in the first four months of 2022 compared with the same period last year increased in 61 localities and decreased in 2 localities across the country.

The 10 provinces with the best IIP growth in the country all recorded an increase of over 18% over the same period last year, in which Ha Giang and Bac Giang had the best growth with 33.2% and 32.2% respectively. ,first%.

The remaining 8 localities in the top 10 with the highest IIP growth rates are Kon Tum, Lai Chau, Binh Phuoc, Hai Duong, Quang Nam, Dak Lak, Bac Lieu and Lam Dong.

In the opposite direction, Tra Vinh and Ha Tinh provinces were the two provinces that recorded a decrease of 7.9% and 19.7% respectively in the IIP over the same period last year.

The report of the General Statistics Office also showed that a number of key industrial products in the first 4 months of 2022 increased sharply compared to the same period last year, such as MSG and mobile phone components, both increased by 21.5%; bar steel, angle steel increased by 15.2%; fabrics made from natural fibers increased by 13.5%; urea fertilizer increased by 13.2%.

Following is Alumin with 12.7% increase; casual wear increased by 12.3%; cars by 12%; processed seafood increased by 11.3%; fresh milk increased by 9.7%; rolled steel increased by 9.6%; clean coal increased by 9.3%.

In the opposite direction, a number of products that decreased compared to the same period last year were TVs down 18.9%; mobile phones down 9.9%; gasoline, oil decreased by 9.7%; fabrics made from man-made fibers decreased by 9.1%; aquatic feed decreased by 8.4%; iron, crude steel down 5.8%; chemical paint decreased by 2.6%; gaseous natural gas decreased by 2.1%; crude oil exploitation decreased by 1.1%.

The number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of April 1 increased by 1.3% compared to the same period last month and by 3.9% over the same period last year.

In which, state-owned enterprises increased by 0.2% and decreased by 3.9%; non-state enterprises increased by 1.1% and decreased by 2.4%; foreign-invested enterprises increased by 1.5% and 5.3%.

By industry, the number of employees working in mining enterprises increased by 0.3% over the same period last month and decreased by 1.8% over the same period last year; processing and manufacturing increased by 1.4% and 4.3%.

The labor force in the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning remained unchanged and increased by 0.7%; water supply, waste and wastewater treatment and management activities remained unchanged and increased by 1.8%.
