That movie was filmed day and night for 35 days. There’s a scene where I can’t practice fighting all the time, I told you guys to give me a real fight, but I’ll die if I practice forever. At that time, I fought 30 people by myself, fought to restore blood and blood like the real thing, fought hard, but the scene was so great.” When repeating, the male director also had to laugh at the “bloody” of both of them that day.

Director Tran Ngoc Phong is a talented couple who have made famous TV series for a while such as “Alluvial roads”, “Three men”, “Dawn of the delta”,… Up to now , his artistic legacy is up to 10 movies and dozens of short films, television series.

In particular, “Alluvial roads” is a hit TV series once produced by two directors Chau Hue and Tran Ngoc Phong in 1997. This is the longest Vietnamese TV series in the 90s. , with the total budget and number of actors ranked only after “Living forever with the capital”.

The film is a memory imprinted in the hearts of many generations of audiences. Up to now, many people may not remember the story or the details of the movie, but surely when listening to the tune of the song “Alluvial Roads” plays, everyone has to recover.

Previously in a television program, Quyen Linh met with director Tran Ngoc Phong, artist Mai Tran and Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep of the film. They and the team have worked together with the community of suffering, roaming all over the western provinces, even deep forests.

Standing next to the colleagues associated with her youth, Quyen Linh at that time was also emotional when calling the names of those who had passed away: “Uncle Chau Hue (director), Mr. Bao Phuc (musician), Uncle Robert Hai (actor), Uncle Ho Kieng (actor)… The days we spent together, maybe it over 20 years passed! He especially recalled the day with director Tran Ngoc Phong, singer Phuong Thanh pushed 2 beds into a stage, opening into a live show singing up to 60 songs. Those memories are old, but when recalled at the show, they are still full of feelings of recollection as ever.

Also at the show, director Tran Ngoc Phong revealed to MC Quyen Linh the artistic charm that permeated his life like fate. From a young age, he himself had a love for movies from an early age, despite the difficult war situation.

He reiterated: “A movie show for more than an hour can raise alarms up to 3 times, people have to run down the traffic ditch to hide. Enemy planes fly far away, then come back and watch again. A movie that’s shown everywhere I go to see it, even if it’s ten kilometers away or watch it ten times.”

Few people know, the talented male director has a past as a security guard and drama crew.

At the time of the northern border war, director Tran Ngoc Phong followed the call of the Fatherland to mobilize and volunteer to join the army. He spent 10 years in training, became an officer, graduated and taught at the Military School of Military Region 7.

After that, director Tran Ngoc Phong was introduced to the General Film Enterprise (Liberation Now Studio) according to his wishes. From Captain, he accepted to be reduced by 3 salary levels to start his passion for filmmaking with the position of deputy security guard, just to be able to work here.

Later, fortunately, he was promoted to the editing room by the assistant of the organization department because he did not want to waste his talents. However, due to pressure from veteran editors, he changed his direction to apply for a drama crew position (responsible for delivering invitations to actors’ homes) – a profession that MC Quyen Linh said was a difficult job. most stressful.

He came down from Captain to protect the studio for unexpected reasons.

Quickly, he soon had a chance to shine. The male director recalled the situation at that time in a big scene without the direction of the deputy director. He seized the opportunity to take the position of holding the control speaker. After that scene, the director was surprised to say “how can there be a drama guy who controls the army so well” and asked to be in the director’s team.

The artistic career path of the director of “Alluvial Roads” has also flourished since then. After the film, he was made an assistant director for most of the directors at Liberation Film Studio. After that, director Tran Ngoc Phong took more training classes, 7 years later became a director.

During the show, MC Quyen Linh in turn opened gifts that made director Tran Ngoc Phong go from one surprise to another. Among them is the book on the bedside table of millions of young people at that time “Steel has hardened”, a line of poetry written for her friend from 10th grade, after 40 years, she still remembers her first life’s vibrations; the old bicycle and especially the vermicelli that his wife personally cooked sent to the studio.
