The Deputy Spokesperson said: Vietnam believes that it is necessary to immediately stop the use of force, ensure the security and safety of the people, protect essential infrastructure, respect and enforce international humanitarian law, and create favorable conditions. humanitarian access and evacuation events for the foreign community, including the Vietnamese community.

Vietnam supports the efforts of the United Nations and other countries and international partners to support people affected by the war in Ukraine.

In that spirit, responding to the call of the United Nations, Vietnam has contributed $500,000 in humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, of which $100,000 is for the Central Emergency Response Fund, and $100,000 is for the World Health Organization (WHO). , 100,000 USD to the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF, 200,000 USD through the Vietnam Red Cross to the Ukrainian Red Cross, to carry out humanitarian relief activities to support people affected by the conflict in Ukraine .

This humanitarian assistance was announced by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio who visited Vietnam last week.
