Consolidate annual leave to take one time off, is that okay?

I have 12 days off every year. Last April, when I was at home, I went back to my hometown to take care of my seriously ill parents, so I applied for 12 days of annual leave. (Thuy Van)

The salary on my labor contract is 4 million VND, and my monthly salary is 8 million VND. Recently, the human resources department informed me that my salary will be deducted for these 12 days, ie (8,000,000 VND/26) X 12 days off, equal to about 3.7 million VND. At the same time, at the end of the period, I will pay my annual leave of (4,000,000 VND/26) X 12 days, which is about 1.85 million VND.

I thought that the annual leave within 12 days allowed would be 100% salary of 8 million dong, no deduction at all, it doesn’t matter what kind of vacation I take, as long as it doesn’t exceed the number of days.

I consulted with the human resources officer but they told me to only follow the law. Is the company doing this right? Can I take a day off like that?
