“The intense heat makes us feel nauseous, but if I don’t work, I can’t earn money,” said Rasheed Rind, a Pakistani resident.

Several hospitals in the city of Jacobabad have been overwhelmed by a sharp increase in hospitalizations for strokes.

Nurse Bashir Ahmed said: “In the past, the heat would start in June and July. Heat strokes would happen during these two months. But now, strokes happen earlier. . May has just started, and there have been cases of heat stroke. The number continues to increase.”
