Vietnamese female volunteer burst into tears when bringing Malaysia U23 to Phu Tho

A female volunteer suddenly cried after joining U23 Malaysia to Phu Tho, preparing for the match against U23 Vietnam at the 31st SEA Games semi-finals.

On the afternoon of May 17, teachers and coaches Brad Maloney were present in Viet Tri city (Phu Tho) after a 3-hour journey from Nam Dinh to prepare for the confrontation with U23 Vietnam in the semi-finals. SEA Games 31 (19h on 19/5).

The Malaysian U23 players were tired after the trip from Nam Dinh to Phu Tho.

However, according to coach Brad Maloney, his students are ready for a great battle with U23 Vietnam in the semi-finals.

Coach Brad Maloney happily answered Vietnamese reporters about the health situation of his students, making comments about the opponent U23 Vietnam.

When the members of U23 Malaysia completed the check-in procedure at the hotel, a female volunteer suddenly burst into tears, causing teacher and coach Brad Maloney to return to comfort him.

That is Nguyen Thi Nhung (from Bac Giang and currently a 2nd year student at the University of Economics, Technology and Industry), a female volunteer who has been with U23 Malaysia for the past 17 days in Nam Dinh.

“This is my first time volunteering for a football team. At first, we were also surprised but gradually we fell in love with the whole team. They help us with many lessons about the sport and I have many lessons with them as well. Overall, it’s very emotional, so I’m very emotional.”

“Me and the Malaysia U23 team often talk to each other at the hotel. At the end of the training session of U23 Malaysia, I often play with the players. The love between us is great! Because before I was accepted as a volunteer, I didn’t think I would be able to get to know the Malaysian U23 players so close today. I think that’s a very lucky thing for me,” said Nguyen Thi Nhung emotionally.
