Testifying before the US House of Representatives Intelligence Subcommittee, Pentagon officials did not disclose further information from the ongoing investigations of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). However, the Pentagon said it has nominated the director for a new task force to coordinate UFO data collection efforts.

Ronald Moultrie, the undersecretary of defense for intelligence, said the Pentagon was also trying to identify issues related to UFOs. Also encourage pilots and military personnel to report abnormalities they see.

According to News Agency APUS lawmakers emphasized UFOs are a national security concern. Among the reports of UFO sightings, there are many recorded cases near military bases and coastlines, raising suspicions that it is a secret Chinese or Russian technological device.

However, what eyewitnesses see is often fleeting. Some images appear for no more than a moment, and they are sometimes distorted by the camera lens.

The US government is believed to hold additional technical information in the UFO sightings that it has not disclosed publicly.

An interim report released in 2021 by intelligence officials counted 144 sightings of aircraft or other devices that appeared to be flying at mysterious speeds or trajectories. However, there is too little information for investigators to provide a general description of the nature of the incident.

Rep. André Carson, the Indiana Democrat who presided over the hearing, urged investigators to show they were “ready to follow up on the facts that they’ve announced.”

Meanwhile, Representative Rick Crawford, an Arkansas Republican, noted that the investigations “are not about finding alien spacecraft, but should focus on providing intelligence. outstanding”.

“The inability to understand the activities of objects in our sensitive areas is tantamount to an intelligence failure that we certainly want to avoid,” Mr Crawford said.
