Ukraine announced the summary of the network of “spies” for the Russian military

SBU spokesman Artem Dekhtiarenko said the network of “spies” was tasked with ensuring that Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups infiltrated the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv.

“The spy group was founded by a resident of the city and is under the supervision of a general of the Russian forces. The group consists of five locals,” Mr. Dekhtiarenko said.

Details released by the SBU show that the alleged spy network includes both women and Ukrainian ex-soldiers from units stationed in the region.

In order to obtain top-secret information, including the location of Ukrainian units, “spies” tried to extract information from military personnel serving in the Ukrainian armed forces. They exploit confidential information in “intimate conversations”.

According to the instructions of the person in charge, the “spies” also gathered information on the socio-political situation in the region and the consequences of the Russian missile attacks on Mykolaiv.

According to Dekhtiarenko, after the “successful” performance of their duties, some “spies” had to be evacuated to Crimea, others – promised to be appointed to leadership positions in the event of an emergency. Mykolaiv fell to Russia.

Mr. Dekhtiarenko said that while raiding and searching the residence of the “spies” group to capture their group, investigators found their communication methods, the drives contained evidence of their identity. subversive operations, money is allocated to the operation of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Active members of the “spy” group are currently detained for further investigation.

The detainees were informed that they were suspected of “treason”.

“Urgent measures are being taken to locate, detain and prosecute others involved in Russian intelligence activities,” the SBU spokesman added.
