Prisoner who escaped from prison was caught after 3 months of hiding

On the afternoon of May 19, the Quang Tri Provincial Police said that after 3 months of intense searching, Cam Lo district police forces arrested Doan Tran (50 years old, living in block 3A, Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district). This is the subject who escaped from the Cam Lo district police custody house on February 20. In addition to Doan Tran, subject Nguyen Van Tiem (30 years old, living in Gio An commune, Gio Linh district) – who escaped from the detention house with Tran, was also arrested on May 12 while hiding in Xuan village. Before that, in the early morning of February 20, Tran and Tien had cut the wall of the cell in the detention house of the Cam Lo District Police and then fled.

Nguyen Van Tiem, who was prosecuted for the crime of “illegal possession of narcotics” was tried with a sentence of 5 years in prison and is awaiting execution; and Doan Tran was prosecuted for the crime of “illegal transportation of narcotics” related to the illegal transportation of 11kg of drugs in December 2021.
