Slaughter brother and sister-in-law because of land dispute in Hanoi
In a land dispute, Mr. Dang Van Hoa (in Hanoi) slashed his brother with a knife 4 times in a row. When the sister-in-law rushed in to intervene, the accused slashed the sister-in-law.
Today (May 20), the Hanoi People’s Court sentenced defendant Dang Van Hoa (born 1959, in Phuc Tho) to a 14-year sentence for murder.
According to the indictment, defendant Hoa and Mr. Dang Van Hoa (SN 1953) are siblings, right next to each other.
Due to the need to apply for a land use right certificate named after Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, (his son Hoa), on the morning of June 16, 2021, Mr. Hoa invited someone to measure the land at the beginning of the common entrance to the house. Hoa and Mr. Hoa’s house.
Around 11am on the same day, when Hoa returned from working in the fields, his wife told him that Mr. Hoa’s family invited someone to measure the land in the red book but also measure the shared path.
The defendant thought that his brother intended to encroach on the common road between the two houses, so he went to Mr. Hoa’s house to ask for clarification.
Meeting his brother, the defendant said: “You measured the land without telling me, you measured all the way to your house, then my children and grandchildren will have to pay taxes to travel.”
Mr. Hoa replied: “Everyone has their share of the land their parents divide, but who can take it from whom he curses.”
While the two were talking back and forth, Mr. Tuan came home from work. This guy said: “… You guys beat me here, my father is old, leave my father alone”.
Annoyed that Tuan is a nephew, he has a rude attitude, so Hoa took a knife from the house, hid it in the waistband of his pants, and went to the gate.
After shouting at his brother, the defendant used a pregnant knife to stab Mr. Hoa’s side, temple and chest four times in a row.
When Mr. Hoa’s wife ran out to hold Hoa to stop him, the defendant continued to take a knife and slashed at the temple area. Mr. Hoa only stopped when people intervened and took the knife from the defendant’s hand.
Due to timely emergency treatment, Mr. Hoa and his wife did not die. Mr. Hoa was injured with a body injury rate of 67%. Mr. Hoa’s wife was injured 2%.
