Deputy Prime Minister looks for opportunities for Vietnam at WEF Davos 2022

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai had the opportunity to introduce to the world about Vietnam’s economic development and recovery strategy, towards green, digital and sustainable growth.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos (Switzerland), from May 23 to May 24.

At WEF Davos 2022, the Deputy Prime Minister will share Vietnam’s vision in key sessions on navigating a global food crisis, developing a digital ASEAN for all and dialogue between leaders high-level on building a resilient economy for sustainable growth.

On this occasion, he will have a working session with WEF President Borge Brende on promoting cooperation. Vietnam and the WEF are also expected to sign a cooperation agreement to support Vietnam in implementing its socio-economic development strategy 2021-2025 and towards 2030.

Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, WTO and other international organizations Le Tuyet Mai, shared that Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai’s attendance at this year’s WEF Conference shows his respect, promote cooperation, as well as the commitment of Vietnam and the international community to solve global problems.

WEF Davos 2022 is also an opportunity for senior Vietnamese leaders to directly introduce to the world the socio-economic development strategy, the policy of opening up tourism, promoting and attracting trade, investment, and service. inclusive economic recovery, towards a transition to a green, digital and sustainable growth model…

The World Economic Forum was established in 1970 on the initiative of Mr. Schwab. WEF has attracted many countries around the world to participate with the common goal of solving pressing global problems.

Every year, the WEF conference takes place in January in Davos (Switzerland), but this year takes place in May after being postponed for more than two years due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

The seven main themes of WEF 2022 are global cooperation; economic rebalancing; social, equity and global health; nature, food and climate; industrial transformation; innovation, governance, and cybersecurity.

This year’s conference comes at an important time when the world is facing many challenges. The event is where the world’s top political, business and academic leaders gather to discuss pressing global issues such as the pandemic, armed conflict in Ukraine, as well as local shocks economy and climate change.

This year’s WEF Davos is expected to attract about 2,500 national leaders, international organizations, businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and academia.
