Range Rover 2022 recalled due to front collision sensor error

AmericaThe front sensors of the Range Rover 2022 may become loose during operation, causing unwanted airbag activation.

Jaguar Land Rover has determined that the frontal collision sensors on certain 2022 Range Rover vehicles are not properly installed. Both sensors can loosen over time and drop during travel, triggering the bag for unknown reasons.

As a result, Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 19 vehicles in the US manufactured between February 2-22. The British automaker determined that 100% of vehicles had this problem.

The company says that if the frontal collision sensor is loose, there is a risk of the airbag deploying in the absence of a collision. This can cause injury to occupants and lead to greater consequences when the driver loses control of the vehicle, potentially leading to another crash while the airbag is activated.

Jaguar Land Rover first noticed the issue in April and immediately launched an investigation, then halted deliveries on April 5.

Jaguar Land Rover said it has not reported any accidents or related injuries. From July 8, the company will notify vehicle owners about the recall. The customer will take the vehicle to a Land Rover repair facility, and the technician will tighten the front crash sensor with a gauge to standard accuracy, and the repair will be free of charge.
