North Korea tests river water, garbage to prevent Covid-19

North Korean health officials have been testing rivers, lakes, air and domestic sewage and garbage for the coronavirus as the country ramps up efforts to combat its first outbreak.

According to Reuters news agency, North Korea is in a heated battle against the wave of Covid-19 never happend.

“The anti-epidemic sectors at all levels have given priority to testing samples taken from rivers and lakes, and at the same time disinfecting hundreds of cubic meters of wastewater and thousands of tons of garbage every day, testing and analyzing samples,” KCNA wrote.

However, North Korea did not detail the testing methods. Last year, the country said it had produced its own PCR testing equipment, but never confirmed how many people had tested positive, but only reported the number of people with fever.
