Meanwhile, in the West, the price of seafood tends to decrease. Ms. Thu Hong, owner of a seafood barn in Ward 2, Soc Trang City, said that after April 30, the prices of many types of seafood decreased slightly. Black tiger shrimp with 10 heads/kg was sold by Ms. Hong for 450,000 VND/kg, down 30,000 VND compared to a week ago.

“The price of 30 black tiger shrimp is 240,000, a reduction of 20,000 VND. The price of crabs also decreased slightly, 4 fish/kg 680,000 VND, before 720,000 VND. Brick crab reduced from 650,000 VND to 550,000 VND/kg; Meat crabs with 3 crabs/kg cost 350,000 VND, 1-2 crabs/kg cost 450,000 VND, a decrease of 30,000-50,000 VND”, said Ms. Hong.

For green lobsters that are “firmly eaten”, on the morning of May 27, Ms. Hong sold 0.5 kg each for 299,000 VND.

And in Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc city (Kien Giang), owner of Free Beach Phu Quoc Resort Pham Van Sy, said that 6-7 crabs/kg cost 370,000 VND, 5 fish/kg type cost 550,000 VND.

“Fresh egg squid in Phu Quoc on the morning of May 16 is 320,000 VND/kg, squid from 150,000 to 160,000 VND/kg. Cobia with all bones on it costs 300,000 VND/kg, the cut with bones is 200,000 VND/kg, before it was 180,000 VND”, Mr. Sy said.

Vannamei shrimp of 25 type/kg was bought by businesses in Soc Trang for 175,000 VND, 30 shrimp/kg was 144,000 VND. Small size shrimp 80 pcs/kg priced at 111,000 dong, 90 pcs/kg 102,000 dong and 100 pcs 97,000 dong.
